Dr. George Dimokas, was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1976. He received B.Sc., at Agronomist, M.Sc and PhD. from University of Thessaly- School of Agricultural Sciences - Department of Agriculture Crop Production and Rural Environment, Volos, Greece, in 2001, 2003 and 2009, respectively. Between the years 2002 and 2004 he worked at Prefectual Authority of Magnesia as Agronomist responsible for several National and European projects. He spent two months (June 2007 – July 2007) as a visiting researcher at the Department of INRA, Institut National de la Recherché Agronomique at Avignon, France. He has more than 5 years experience in Research activities in the fields of: i). greenhouse management, ii). climate control, iii). crop development and production, iv). development decision support systems, v). irrigation management, vi). development of climate and biological simulators. He has published almost 20 papers in journals and conference proceedings and he has 9 citations in this field. Additionally he has more than 1 year teaching experience in Technological Education. He wrote teaching notes for “Special Horticulture” and “Greenhouses mechanization and robotics” for the departments of crop production at T.E.I. of Thessaloniki and Larisa respectively.
Dr. George Dimokas, (Agronomist, Ph.D. Agricultural Constructions), is a member of Laboratory of Agricultural Constructions and Environmental Control (LACEC). Currently, he is a college teaching at T.E.I. of Larissa, Greece, http://www.teilar.gr, Department of Plant Production and Department of Biosystems Engineering. His research interests include: i). development decision support systems, ii). climate control and crop production, iii). development of climate and biological simulators, iv). irrigation management at hydroponic systems and v). optimization techniques.
